#DalíMeetsDante
July 1st, 2015, opening of the exhibition #DalíMeetsDante
The Fondazione Ambrosiana, organizer of cultural exhibitions throughout Italy, pays homage to Dante presenting an exhibition of the Divine Comedy as illustrated by Dalí. The focus point of the exhibition is a series of 100 illustrations based on Dante’s epic poem. Dalí illustrates Dante’s allegorical journey through Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, re-interpreting it with a psychoanalytical slant.
The exhibition also presents Dalí artworks with a religious theme, amongst them the famous bronze sculptures such as Saint George and the Dragon, Adam and Eve and Triumphant Angel.
